Mystery Picnic Scavenger Hunt by eBike, exploring Matakana, Omaha and Point Wells.
A fun and interactive adventure for the discerning cyclist . Unleash your intelligence and embrace the mystery of a truly unique cycling experience.  Capturing precious moments and making unforgettable memories as you bask in the beauty of the Matakana region, on this stunning trail. Make a day of it and visit the famous Matakana Farmers Market (on each Saturday) or why not make a weekend of it!
Length: Matakana to Omaha (7km) Omaha to Point Wells 5km) Point Wells to Matakana 5.5km

Duration: 3 hours one way*(extra fee may apply) or 4-5 hours for the full round trip experience.

Includes:
– eBike hire per person (waiver form to be signed prior).
– Beverage, morning tea, cultural stop, a shared lunch platter (depending on the date you book, you will enjoy a wine tasting and picnic platter OR a bottle of wine and a curated picnic to share at your final destination allowing you to immerse yourself in the picturesque surroundings), wine tasting and something sweet to cool off before your swim!
– A curated map and clues emailed to you before departure. Unleash your intelligence and embrace the mystery of a truly unique picnic experience.  Capturing precious moments and making unforgettable memories as you bask in the beauty of the Matakana region, on this stunning trail.
Conditions:
– Subject to availability. Booking in advance is essential, minimum 3 days notice. Public Holidays closed.
– Available most days except for public holidays.  In the event a certain vendor is closed, substitutes will be made.
– Medium fitness is required. This ride includes gravel sections, some steep hills and a small amount of road use. You can always switch to electric mode if it gets too much!
– Completed rain, hail or shine.  Please check the weather forecast before booking and leading up to your booking.  Postponement accepted with a minimum 3 days notice. Less than 3 days notice will incur a $40 change fee. Cancellation on the day of your booking, no refunds or changes.

– Yourself and companion!
– Backpack, icepack, togs, towel, sunscreen, pen, water bottle
Plan:

 

– You emailed a map of your trip and a set of clues that you need to solve to work out where you are going.
– Starting and finishing in Matakana, it is best to drive and park in the community carpark next to Matakana school. Cycle at your own pace, ideally starting no later than 10am.
– Discover The Coast Trail (link www.thecoastaltrail.co.nz) (established stage) from Matakana, Omaha & Point Wells in a whole new way – with our exclusive mystery picnic experience. This experience takes you on a fun, unique adventure exploring this beautiful Matakana region.
– Ride from the village to the beach, through some stunning farmland, bush and quiet communities.
Note:
Walking is an option for those keen beavers and of course there is the option of driving but that would just be lazy right and not so great on the environment, unless of course health reasons dictate!
